A Love Letter – and apology!

yarn loveDearest Friends – If you are reading this it is likely that you love us like we love you.  In the last Shop email I expressed continuing concerns over the closing of yet another local yarn shop.  I reminded everyone to shop local and support yarn shops no matter where you travel or where you live.  Somewhere – everywhere – there is an LYS waiting to serve you.

The result of the email was a flurry of wonderful love letters from many of you who both feared that Knit1 might close and, when relieved that it was NOT about us, expressed complete support for the message.

And then it hit me.  Of course in its way, the email to you was unnecessary.  If you read the email you already support our shop or one near you.  You already understand the need to keep us open and doing well.  You already get it.

To have been more artful in my words I should have said THANK YOU for what you have done and continue to do for us.  We appreciate every skein and needle you buy and every class you take.  We notice and it matters.  You are the reason we get up in the morning ready to open shop.

Each of us is an ambassador for the local shop.  Each of us helps by supporting and by telling others to support any LYS.  Again, thank you for hanging in with us, for reading emails and writing back and for all you do to make this journey fun.

Hope to see you soon,
