The Sixth Annual Oxford Fiber Arts Festival draws ever closer and we cannot wait!
The Festival will be held at the Oxford Powerhouse on Friday, January 29 and Saturday, January 30, 2016, with some additional classes and opening reception on Thursday, January 28, 2016. Every day, we will post information about one of the 22 classes and information about a participating vendors. Our featured class today is Drop Spindle for Beginners.
Beth Collier-Shafer will teach this class on Thursday, January 28, 2016 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Learn to spin in one of the oldest and simplest ways to make yarn. The drop spindle is a great way to learn how to spin, and spindles are far more affordable, and more portable, than spinning wheels. The class includes two ounces of wool roving, and a drop spindle. Students will learn basic techniques: drafting, spinning, and plying. All materials provided including a drop spindle for you to keep. Class cost is $35.
Call the Shop starting on December 20 to sign up for this class! Space is limited, so be sure to sign up soon. For full class listings, visit our class page.
