The Festival will be held at the Oxford Powerhouse on Friday, January 29 and Saturday, January 30, 2016, with some additional classes and opening reception on Thursday, January 28, 2016.
Every day, we will post information about one of the 22 classes and information about one of the participating vendors.
Our featured class today is Introduction to Spinning.
Beth Collier-Shafer will be our guide on Friday, January 29, 2016 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. This class is for beginners who would like to learn to spin. Participants will go home with a small hank of their own yarn and a drop spindle. This class covers wheel set-up, drafting, and Andean plying. Wheels are provided, but bring your own if you have one (let the instructor know if you will be bringing your own wheel). All materials provided. The class will cost $55.
