The Festival will be held at the Oxford Powerhouse on Friday, January 29 and Saturday, January 30, 2016, with some additional classes and opening reception on Thursday, January 28, 2016.
Every day, we will post information about one of the 22 classes and information about one of the participating vendors.
Our featured teacher today is Penny Nelson.
Penny was taught to weave by her grandmother when she was 13 years old, so has been weaving for over 50 years. She has been knitting for nearly as long and spinning and dyeing for about 11 years. Penny and her business partner Peggy Barnette set up Sky Loom Weavers nearly 10 years ago to fund their passion for the fiber arts. They teach spinning, weaving, dyeing using natural and commercial dyes, knitting and crochet out of their studio in Cat Spring, Texas.
Penny will be teaching Spinning Fun and Funky Yarn and Kool-Aid Dyeing.
Call the Shop starting on December 20 to sign up for Penny’s classes! Space is limited, so be sure to sign up soon. For full class listings, visit our class page.
